It’s peak foliage time in southeastern PA right now. I’ve been to all the places you’ll find on lists of where to see autumn leaves in Philly, and I can tell you that the BEST place is on the Wissahickon Trail. It’s especially beautiful along Lincoln Drive where you can easily access Forbidden Drive as well as . It’s free. It’s stunning.
I park at the large parking pull-off just north of Rittenhouse Town on Lincoln Drive. Start before 10 AM and you will generally find parking. From here, it’ a short walk or bike ride to two picturesque bridges along the river, and you can walk under the huge stone and concrete Henry Avenue bridge. Then, walk or ride up as far as you like on Forbidden Drive.
Find park maps including all of your parking options on the Friends of the Wissahickon website.
